Introduction:

This course enables participants to have a clear insight of how their equipment works, making troubleshooting an easier task. The course is designed such that the participants from both engineering/ design and operation/ maintenance areas on the plant will benefit from it. The course is suitable for complete range of SIMATIC S7 PLCs and SIMATIC HMIs.

Objectives:

To familiarize participants with:

  • Automation Systems – Introduction.
  • PLC / SIMATIC Systems.
  • Capabilities and applications of the system.
  • Documentation and software listing.
  • PLC programming language (STL).
  • Specific hardware and software configurations.
  • Special Function Counter / Frequency Mater
  • HMI Configuration.
  • System maintenance – Testing & Commissioning.
  • Industrial Application.

Target Audience:

Personnel of engineering background involved in installation, operation and maintenance of SIMATIC PLCs, having basic knowledge of PLCs. e.g. Engineers & technicians.

Course Description:

This course focuses on SIMATIC Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to introduce the concept of Industrial Automation with PLCs.

storage and editing of programs using a portable programmer, in each of the three forms of representation.

Know-how of hardware components and rules governing the configuration and wiring of SIMATIC controls is also imparted. The course is complemented with typical control system problems and exercises which allow the student to adopt a systematic approach to  software development and testing using the Simulator based on “Middle range PLC- S7 300” and SIMATIC HMI KTP700.

Use of the built in documentation capabilities and symbols editor is presented next. After documentation, timers, counters, comparators, and arithmetic operations are presented. The course finishes with use of built in diagnostics functions, to troubleshoot and debug problems.
